Scenario | Accident Bleeding
- Apply firm, direct pressure on the wound with a clean cloth or gauze until the bleeding stops.
- If the cloth becomes soaked, do not remove it. Place another layer on top and continue pressing.
- If the injury is on an arm or leg, elevate the limb above heart level if possible.
- Avoid using a tourniquet unless bleeding is severe and cannot be controlled with pressure.
- Wash your hands after completing first aid and before cleaning or dressing the wound.
